1. Introduction:

What is the Enterpreter?

The Enterpreter application is a translation tool that allows language translation on your mobile device.

How do I use the application?

You can find the Enterpreter user manuals on our website. Select ‘Downloads’ in the menu and then select ‘Enterpreter User Manuals’ and then select the user manual for your phone or operating system.

Does it cost anything to use the Enterpreter?

The Enterpreter comes with a "3 day free trial" period. After the expiration of the trial period, there is an annual subscription fee. Your service provider will charge you standard data tariffs, depending on your service plan/terms.

How do I download/install the application??

  1. Direct to your mobile:
Surf to www.enterpret.mobi and download direct to your device. Certain operators may block the download process, if so you will need to install with the side load option below.
  2. By side load:
Go to http://www.enterpret.net/en/Downloads, and download to the application to your computer for installation with your phone's software manager program.

Will the Enterpreter work on my phone?

To check and see if the Enterpreter will run on your phone, see the Phones Covered section.

Is the Enterpreter compatible with my network?

The Enterpreter works on all major networks that have a data/internet connection.

Is the Enterpreter available in my country?

The Enterpreter Mobile is being made available to users in most countries where there is data connectivity.

What happens if the application doesn’t download correctly?

Check that your mobile phone is configured correctly for WAP access. Please contact your network operator to verify your WAP settings.

I've received the SMS/WAP prompt, how do I activate the download?

  1. When the message appears, open it.
  2. Follow the instructions to download the Enterpreter.
  3. Click ‘Yes’ if you are asked to connect to a server.
  4. Click ‘Yes’ when you are asked to install the Enterpreter Translator on your mobile.
  5. If a message appears saying the application is not trusted, press ‘Yes’ to continue with the installation process.
  6. You may need to decide where to save the Enterpreter on your phone or memory. Choose whichever option suits you best.
  7. If you are directed to a WAP page asking you to unblock adult content, you need to contact your network operator to unlock the content on your phone.

How long will the application stay on my phone?

Once you have downloaded the application you can keep it on your phone for as long as you renew the annual subscription

Can I delete the application?

You will be able to delete the application from your phone at any time. You may need to use the application manager to delete the games on some phones.

If I switch network operators will the Enterpreter still work?

Changing networks should not affect your Enterpreter Translator, as long as you have configured your phone to connect to your new network operator’s GPRS/WAP services.

What happens if I change phones?

If you switch phones you will need to install the Enterpreter again, assuming your new phone is compatible. You should then be able to log in as normal.

Further information

What is Java?

Java is essentially a programming language that is used to create games and applications. Some phones support downloadable Java/J2Me applications over a WAP connection. This means you can add it to your phone's functionality by downloading games and applications to your handset.

What is WAP?

WAP is short for Wireless Application Protocol. It defines the standards by which web content can be successfully and efficiently delivered to mobile phones.

What are WAP settings?

Each phone and operator has specific settings to allow access to WAP pages. This capability is necessary to download the application.

What's a WAP Push?

This is a particular sort of SMS message that makes it easy for you to download applications to your phone. The message contains a link that directs your mobile to a secure site from where the Enterpreter translation application can be downloaded.

What does it mean if an application is not trusted?

This means that there is a compatibility issue between your phone and the certificates used on the Enterpreter service. This does not mean that your security is compromised. If this message appears after you have been using the service then contact our Customer Care team.

Troubleshooting

What if I lose network coverage?

If you lose network coverage, then the application will not function properly, and you will receive an error message stating so. You will be able to resume the application once you are in an area that has network connectivity.

I receive the following message when I try to install to my BlackBerry device: " No additional applications were found for your device"

You will need to install the latest version of the Blackberry Desktop Software v4.3 and select v4.3 to download the software, in order to side load the Enterpreter to your device.

How do I remove content blocking?

You need to prove to your network operator that you are over 18 years old. This usually means registering your credit card details with them. Contact your network operator for details.

I didn't receive the SMS message/WAP Push.

  1. Check your outbox to see if your text message requesting the application was sent.
  2. If you use a top-up card, check that there is enough credit on your card to pay for your text request.
  3. Check to see if the SMS message/WAP Push from us is in your "Service Messages inbox/Browser Alerts inbox" (just "Inbox" in some models) if your mobile stores WAP Push links.
  4. Make sure your inbox isn't full.
  5. Make sure your WAP settings are configured correctly.
  6. Your network might be experiencing a high level of traffic. Try waiting for 30 minutes in case the SMS message/WAP Push has been delayed. If you still haven't received it, try requesting it again.

The error message "Forbidden" appears when I try to download the application.

This means the WAP gateway you are using to access the site has a size limit. To avoid this problem, change your WAP settings to a gateway that has no restrictions. If you are unsure how to do this, contact your service provider.

When I try to download the application, the error message "File too large" appears. What does this mean?

Some mobiles will not download items over a certain size. Please check your mobile manual for details.

My download doesn't reach 100% or a message appears saying "Download failed".

Please make sure that your WAP settings are correct. Some operators' WAP systems have not yet been configured to support Java application downloads. Please contact your operator for further information.

My download failed. What do I do?

The Enterpreter may have been downloaded to a folder where you were unable to find it. Try looking for it in 'Downloads', 'Applications' or 'Games'. If you still can’t find it, make sure there is enough room on your mobile for another application.

I get a message saying ‘Memory Full’.

If your phone memory is full you will need to clear some space by erasing an application. Once you have cleared some space, you can try the download process again.

Why does my WAP connection fail before I download the Enterpreter?

Clear the cache in your WAP browser before you try accessing the address again. Also, check that your phone has enough memory available. Refer to your phone's user manual for details of the applications you can safely delete. If you are still unable to download the application, it may be because your phone operator's WAP gateway won’t allow you to download it.

What happens if I receive a call or SMS while using the Enterpreter?

With most new handsets, you shouldn't experience problems in answering a call or reading a text messages while you're translating. You will be notified of the incoming call or message when you're translating and play will be paused while you deal with it.

Can I turn the sound up or down?

Yes, by selecting the "Volume control" feature on the audio download.

I've forgotten both my username and password. What should I do?

To replace your existing username and password please contact Customer Support.
